FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. The Atlanta Falcons have placed edge rusher Bralen Trice on injured reserve, the organization announced Thursday.
Trice was listed onthe teams' initial rosterTuesday prior to being placed on injured reserve. Therefore, he will be available to return this season. Players who go on injured reserve during the season must miss a minimum of four games before returning to play. Teams can designate up to eight players to return from IR during the regular season. That number goes up to 10 players if the team in question makes the postseason. The Falcons have already used two of their return designations on offensive tackle Storm Norton and defensive tackle Ta'Quon Graham.
Once a player on IR is cleared to return to practice, it opens up a 21-day window in which the player much be activated to the active roster. If they are not, they must be placed on season-ending IR.
Trice missed the entirety of the 2024 season his own rookie year with a knee injury sustained in the Falcons' first preseason game in Miami last year. Working back to health, Tricereturned to the fieldfor Falcons' training camp this August. He was an active part of theFalcons' defensive line rotationthroughout camp. Though he did not play in the team's first preseason game of 2025, he did see a little action in Week 2 of the preseason against the Tennessee Titans and then again in Week 3's preseason finale in Dallas. In both outings, he played roughly 33% of the defensive snaps (21 snaps against the Titans and 20 snaps in Dallas).
