EAGAN, Minn.The Vikings added to the back end of their defense near the end of the third round Friday night, selecting safety Jakobe Thomas out of Miami.
The native of Tullahoma, Tennessee, played just one season at Miami after three seasons (2021-23) at Middle Tennessee State and spending the 2024 campaign at Tennessee.
Over 16 games for the Canes in 2025, Thomas totaled 76 tackles, five interceptions (one returned for a TD), 3.5 sacks, four tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and six pass breakups.
The five interceptions tied for seventh in FBS in 2025 and helped him garner Second-Team All-ACC honors.
