San Francisco 49ers quarterbackBrock Purdyhas been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week following his standout performance in the team's 48-27 win over the Indianapolis Colts on "Monday Night Football."
Purdy completed 25 of his 34 passing attempts for 295 yards and a career-high five touchdown passes, finishing the night with a 126.8 passer rating. His five touchdown throws give him 17 on the season and 81 for his career, and marked the first time a 49ers quarterback has thrown five-or-more touchdowns in a single game since Hall of Famer Joe Montana set the franchise record with six touchdowns during the 1990 season at Atlanta (10/14/90).
With three touchdown passes in Week 15 against the Tennessee Titans and five more against Indianapolis, Purdy registered back-to-back games with three-or-more touchdown passes for the second time in his career and for the first time since the 2023 season. Purdy led the 49ers offense for a season-high 48 points and 440 total yards, both the most the team has recorded in a game since 2019 and 2024, respectively. In the first half alone, Purdy threw three touchdown passes to three different positions, wide receiverDemarcus Robinson, running backChristian McCaffreyand tight endGeorge Kittle, becoming the first 49ers quarterback to accomplish the feat in the first half of a game since Alex Smith did so in the 2010 season.
